>> good morning. no one including smith was sure he would take the field last night. he did not decide until late yesterday afternoon. he got about an hour of sleep. he got word early on sunday morning that his younger brother was killed in a motorcycle crash in virginia. 19-year-old tevin jones was riding his motorcycle when he ran off the road and hit a utility pole. virginia police say he was wearing a helmet, and alcohol was not a factor. torrey smith rushed to be with his family. he went to the stadium and decided to take the field and he had a great game. smith had two touchdowns. his first of the season, helping the ravens to get a very narrow win over the patriots. >> i didn't want to hurt my team. i came here, the more comfortable i started to feel. i am glad i came back up here.

afternoon for baseball. the bases were loaded in the bottom of the ninth but the orioles could not overcome a 2-1 deficit. they will head back to the yard tonight to start a four-game series against toronto. >> five more victims of violence. a woman was found shot in the elbow on north hilton street. there was a shooting on chesterfield avenue. that is not far from where the mayor joined community leaders. reports of another shooting just before 9:00 p.m. a man was shot on saturday morning. no word on the condition of a

man shot multiple times just after 4:00 p.m. on sunday near the upton masher station -- metro station. nabil epps was found with multiple stab wounds to the chest on west north avenue. he died a few hours later at shock trauma. >> a celebratory homecoming weekend at towson left six people under arrest and one person wounded. people began to be turned away at the door because it was oversold. some towson fraternities were involved. >> one specific fraternity had invited numerous subjects to this party that were not from

this area or from the school. >> at some point, shots were fired injuring one person. anyone with information should contact police. the investigation continues into a deadly shooting involving a police officer. officers were called to seaside road early sunday morning to investigate a suspicious person in the area. the victim allegedly reached for the officer's weapon. police are still sorting out all the details. >> i just know that they responded for a suspicious subjects. the subject was uncooperative. it is suspected that the subject is not from this area. detectives are making attempts to notify next of kin or try to locate exactly where he's from. >> the officers involved have

been placed on administrative leave. >> a boy was handcuffed by police officers on the school bus. the incident happened on wednesday afternoon. the driver reported the child had become aggressive and bit two student on board. school official said the driver followed proper protocol. >> this week ohio is that the center of the bull's-eye. the romney campaign kicks off a bus tour in that state. hallie jackson has details. >>

notice the showers are cross chambersburg into adams county. they could move into the york county. parts of 83 macy's some sprinkles this morning. we have to watch out for the southern edge of this. this may clip some of the northern counties with white sprinkles. high pressure is still dominating the forecast. that will keep us relatively quiet for the next several days. 60 downtown. 53 into the suburbs. chicago, 40 degrees. minneapolis, 41. all the cool air at dipping into the east. we watched as we feel the effects of the next storm system coming out of the plains. that will bring a jump in the temperature.

alabama law requires capital murder cases still go before a jury. she will spend the rest of for life behind prison. an elementary school prison has been arrested on charges of dealing meth. they offered to supply drugs. authorities found a quarter ounce of meth and ghb. he will be arraigned later today. >> a gear shift problem is prompting gm to recall more than 425,000 cars. defects transmissions in chevy malibu s and some saturn cars.

i would hold up. >> torrey smith got word of the crash around 1:00 a.m. sunday and rushed to be with his family. his brother tevin jones died in a motorcycle crash in virginia. we're told 19-year-old jones was riding his motorcycle when he ran off the right side of the road and hit a utility pole. virginia police say he was wearing a helmet, and alcohol was not a factor. >> i got all the support from everyone around the league and just everyone. everywhere i was getting texts and people were telling me about my twitter. i want to thank everyone on behalf of my family. >> smith says after only getting an hour of sleep, he headed to m&t bank stadium, still unsure of whether he would take the field. he says around 4:00 in the afternoon he decided to do it. he had a great game. smith scored two touchdowns, his first of the season, helping the ravens to get to a very narrow win over the patriots.

baltimore adds five victims of violence. a woman was found shot in the elbow on north hilton street. attackers were called to investigate the shooting on chesterfield avenue. that is not far from where the mayor joint committee leaders for a walk against violence. reports of another deadly shootings around 9:00 p.m. a man remains in critical condition after being shot early on saturday morning of jefferson street. the ravens purged the demons from last year's game against new england. joe flacco outperformed tom brady. justin tucker with the field
